Paying 2800 dollars to rebuild a transmission is nothing unusual. We had the transmission of our 1996 Nissan Quest rebuilt at this AAMCO a couple of years ago. We were very satisfied and the car has been running fine since. The manager was professional and gave us a cost that was much better than what the NISSAN dealership and other shops were offering (1000 to 1300dollars more). Once fixed, we drove the van for 10 days then took it back so that they could doublecheck the way the transmission worked. Once again, the manager was eager to hear our feedback and gave us great customer service. We recommend this garage to anyone who wishes to rebuild a car transmission without hesitation!
Tommy and his mechanics are intelligent, fast, and fair. I had a mysterious grinding noise for 2 months with my car and, after taking it to 4 mechanics, some twice, no one was able to identify the problem correctly... let alone fix it. I was told that my transmission would need to be replaced at a cost of $4000 by two other mechanics. After leaving it at AAMCO for an estimate, they adjusted a small issue with my transmission and, without me even asking, found the real cause of the noise - a worn engine mount. NO ONE ELSE even considered this problem but AAMCO found it and fixed it. I spent a fraction of the cost I expected to pay to rebuild/replace my transmission and felt extremely relieved that I didn't invest in such a serious repair when the problem was so simple and easy to fix.
Brought my car in for a general transmission service. I'd called a few other places in advance and decided on Aamco/Fall's Church because of great customer service from Jerry. Over the phone he took the time to explain the different services, whereas other places just gave me the price. Got my car in the same day, didn't have to wait long once I turned over my car to them. They checked everything just to be safe, and turns out I didn't need very much work, so I got a much lower price than quoted. Great customer service, and definitely appreciate that they took the time to explain what was going on.
Tommy was so awesome to work with when my daughter's jeep needed its transmission rebuilt. He was so professional, personable and eager to help! Highly recommend this gentleman's shop for both diagnostic and repair. Service was impeccable and I got the impression he genuinely cared about our situation...very rare in today's world. Please continue what you're doing because it's greatly appreciated. Thanks again Tommy!
The guys at AAMCO are men of integrity. They found multiple leaks in my car that resulted them in having to keep my car longer than expected multiple times, which caused more parts needing to be replaced than the original quote, but they only charged a reasonable price above the original quote and didn’t make me pay for all of the extra work. Then when my heater wasn’t working afterwards they let me bring it back to clean it out for no charge. I will definitely return to this location and recommend anyone that needs work done to come here because they are trustworthy mechanics.
I don't write many reviews, but I had to write about the excellent service I received at the AAMCO Falls Church. I had a clutch issue with my Jeep Wrangler, so I took it to a local auto shop in Arlington which quoted me an extremely high price to replace parts that I suspected were not broken. So I took it to Tommy at AAMCO, they had it fixed in two days, and only replaced the clutch, and not other unnecessary parts that worked fine. They also fixed a minor linkage issue in my 4x4 for free! In the end it saved me almost $1000. Great service, trustworthy, and they won't rip you off, I highly recommend AAMCO Falls Church!
I had such a wonderful experience at this service center! My check engine light came on in my 2008 Jeep Grand Cherokee, and my first reaction was to take it to a Jeep Dealership. After running the diagnostic tests, they said my transmission needed replaced, which would be about $5000. I came to Aamco for a second opinion and they made a painful process so much easier. Tommy, the service manager, was so helpful and kind, and talked to me every step of the way. Instead of replacing the entire transmission, they ended up replacing only the parts that were malfunctioning at a fraction of the dealership’s proposed cost. If I ever have any trouble again, I will be going straight to them! They are very honest and hard working individuals, and just genuinely want to get you and your vehicle back on the road.
I think I have finally found an honest place in the area to return to after trying three other places in the last two years. This place was recommended to me by a friend. Tommy is an honest man who charged me half of what another shop in the area wanted after they failed me on my safety and emmissions tests and told me my car was not worth fixing. Tommy did more work than what the other shop wanted for a much lower price and did not charge me for diagnostics.
